San Vito Sicilian Restaurant

ROSSEEL STUDIO was commissioned to design a high end Italian Restaurant in the heart of Siem Reap, the gateway to the ruins of Angkor.

The client’s wish was for the restaurant to have an authentic Sicilian feel, just like the chef. She took inspiration from the fabulous palaces Villa Tasca in Palermo and Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria for their lush use of materials and tile patterns and crossed these with the classic Italian trattoria. A little rustic but always elegant. The arched windows of the space were a given, ASR laid the space out symmetrically along a central axis, creating an enfilade of kitchen, dining room, bar and terrace with circular circulation for optimal service. Centering the freestanding dining tables on the arched windows for a dramatic dining scene and back to back banquettes on the central axis.
